October 20, 2008METAL CHURCH singer Ronny Munroe and guitarist Rick Van Zandt performed at a benefit concert for Rotary's Kids' Breakfast Club which provides free breakfasts and tutoring services to children and their families. The show took place on Saturday, October 4 at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts in Castro Valley, California and featured Munroe and Van Zandt performing acoustically while accompanied by The Castro Valley High School String Orchestra and Choir.
LateNiteSinners.com has posted footage of the performance and interviews with Munroe, Van Zandt and Sue Hohl, fundraising chair/executive board member of the Kids' Breakfast Club.
Munroe recently spoke to ebPublishing about his involvement in the event.
"I went to a Castro Valley Rotary meeting one time when I heard about the benefit," he said. "I've done other charity shows before, but this one's different because it's in my own neighborhood."
"The Kids' Breakfast Club started in the 1980s as a freemeal program at schools that has now evolved into something that is now more focused on literacy and nutrition," said event organizer Sue Hohl. "We serve kids and families from Castro Valley and all over the Bay Area."
